Sorry to intrude on that discussion, but I have the feeling that the poimt we wanna make doesn't quite get emphasized enough in the previous posts. We wish nothing mlre than to see actual cooperation and colaboration in the community; not only in our own but with everyone who is interested in modding the game. Creditting a creator in a badly thrown together mod compilation is not much of a collaboration. If it is even against the explicit wish of the creator it is selfish and actually quite counterproductive. We are at a point where those who reupload our mods get credit for it in modpacks and/or showcase videos, because noone can track the original author anymore. Too many reuploads. This is frustrating and totally unnecessary! We are cooperative. We have that "ask for permission" rule for a reason, as far as I know in most cases we gave permission if someone wanted to use our mods as a base. All we wanna do is make sure there is some kind of basic respect present inside of a community we wanna feel at home in. That's why we are agaibst all those mod packs, not because we don't want people to enjoy our mods... I understand perfectly, I have developed strict rules on the FR forum to avoid this kind of thing precisely. I also warned that from now on I would not be there to help them and that they should assume their responsibility. |

I would like to clarify that I asked Xan to take it on your behalf from the forum.
All I want is for the good of the community and of myself I just want an ultimate game of Dragon Ball all walking in the same direction and I'm sure that will be the case.
Here modders do not charge their mods then contibuer to want to make an ultimate game, we have all the necessary resources and we just make each our own little thing in his corner I find it really bad
Me this pack you can take it on your behalf and improve it what was normally expected but saw all the incidents on this subject I could not
I want the perfect game for myself and all the community
And for me the ultimate game of Dragon Ball begins with a complete roster
Accept to work together and resume and improve this pack on your behalf to all I beg you with great pleasure.

ici les moddeurs ne font pas payer leur mods alors contibuer a vouloir faire un jeu ultime, nous avons toutes les ressources nécessaires et on se contente de faire chacun notre propre petite chose dans son coin je trouve ca vraiment nul
Moi ce pack vous pouvez le prendre en votre nom et l'améliorer ce qui était normalment prévu mais vu tous les incidents a ce sujet je ne pourrais pas
Je veut le jeu parfait pour moi-même et toutes la communauté
Et pour moi le jeu ultime de Dragon Ball commence par un roster complet
Accepter de travailler ensemble et de reprendre et d'améliorer ce pack en votre nom a tous je vous en prie avec grand plaisir.

We collaborate with each other all the time, creating models together by splitting up the work, sharing our research and techniques with each other in order to develope better mods and yes, also work on a compilation of our best mods together. Of mods we made ourselves!
The thing is that we don't want to deliver something broken and half-assed like you and other mod pack creators do who shove all our stuff into a big download and causing a couple of issues and glitches this way that our mods originally didn't have.
We prepare voices for all our characters, work out compatibility, create proper quests for them...
We want our mods to be shown and to work adequately, so our work is the way we intend it.
People who want to collaborate with us contact us.
They discuss their idea.
If it is something that brings something new we gladly cooperate.
If it is something like "you fam, I take your work and upload it in this pack I do k?" then sorry, that's unacceptable.
It is not helping in the creation of "the ultimate dragonball game".
It is not doing good for the community.
All it is doing is sating your desire for attention, which you prove over and over again by creating new packs with mods you don't have the permission to reshare.

you guys can go on continuing to steal mods. just be warned, modders you steal from will start closing there doors for others. basically modders will start making there mods private to trusted people. this will be the result if you continue though.

"Everything" wouldn't be the truth. On behalf of our community members who didn't give an opem or explicit permission I guess we could say though that their mods have no place there either. Also agwangs mods, he certainly didn't give permission. |

i don't really understand the community of xenoverse for the moment but i'm new here so that's why i ask that question? If anyone ask your authorisation for your mod to made a pack you will said no? that's kinda strange or maybe if you said no you can make your own pack between modders for make a cool new dlc?

I think their point is that the person who made this mod pack didn't ask for permission from any of the modders, or if they did, they ignored the answers anyway.
If you're going to make a modpack, ask for permission from every modder first, and if they say yes, then add their mod to the pack. If they say no, don't add it to the pack.
It's really not that hard people, use your brains. It's also not exclusive to the Xenoverse modding community.
It's common sense in any modding community. Pull this shit on the Minecraft community, or Skyrim community and you'll have the exact same reactions.
People don't like having their work taken without permission.

Well, if he is just an isolated person who is infringing upon the rules and he has already been warned by this website, why dont you talk to the admin of the french website and ask to ban him from there and erase the mod pack link? Would it be something for him to consider and think twice before do it again?

I've read darksoku's posts above and I understand he doesnt support this and he has taken actions via warnings, so I think he should go one step further and delete the link. There's no point in warning and then say "well, you can leave your pack, download it and enjoy" As far as I could read, Dandrich says "I haven't stolen the mods and I haven't given credits to myself", (but he doesnt undertand when a modder says "NO" and he is far from regretting his action) As for me, I had registered myself in that forum and congratulated this guy Dandrich for his work without realizing he had made a pack without mods owners' permission. Now I feel bad for you and this community. So I'm very sorry. |

Darksoku and I talked in PM, he asked me if it should be removed. I said we would really like to see it gone, he replied that it's okay.

You say this but wouldn't a better policy just to be removing stolen content outright from the forum. This topic db-xenomodsverse.clicforum.fr/t287-Hatchyiack-x2m.htm?start=15 for example is using Mastaklo's model and they are discussing porting his Mewtwo. I doubt he gave permission for either of them. The same user also ported Mario by Sol Negro. Allowing your site to host links to this content isn't a good practice. Additionally all of the stolen stuff by Dandrich is still being linked to. |
