You probably have a permission problem somewhere or an antivirus interfering. Another possibility, less likely, but possible is a mod incompatibility with a mod installed on resource.cpk

When I replace the steam_api.dll to the original, the game opens. But without the mods :/

Of course, because sssspatcher is steam_api.dll (the non original one)...

lcspls, I had the same problem. I reinstalled the game (so the resource.cpk is clean) with update 1, disabled antivirus, reinstalled ssmins, run as administrator before install mods and run ssss.exe as admin too

So eternity, remember my problem? I solved it. Installed everything again: game, ssmins and mods. It seemed my antivirus had interferred with sssspatched or ssmins and corrupted the game or ssmins. Now everything works perfectly with antivirus disabled. Thanks for your help, you are a great professional of modding

Anyway, the future version (2.0) will have an option in a menu to check the consistency of the xml files, so problems can be detected. For a later update, I also plan something to create something like a restore point / backup state of mods, so that they can be restored to a previous stable point in case of problems, but that won't be in 2.0.

SS Mods Installer 2.0 has gained a new feature (and with this, the list of features for 2.0 gets closed): I have been able to enable the random character slots to be used by new characters. So you could get 3 more slots with 10 subslots = the limit is now 750 characters.
This feature is planned to work like this: until you install a character in a random slot, the random slot will still work as random slot (vanilla behaviour). Once you install at least one character on that slot, it will cease to work as random slot, and it will work as regular slot. Once you uninstall all characters of that slot, it will return to vanilla behaviour.
The icon for characters installed there is always that of the first character installed in the slot. And since in 2.0, modders will be able to specify a custom icon, they could customize it.
The only things remaining to implement are this one (properly implement it, so far it was a just a dirty test), and the galaxian wars banner/name thing. The estimated time of arrival remains for this weekend.

That would be either a custom icon if the mod uses that feature or otherwise an existing game icon specified in the <Slot> section.

Hi eternity, I was thinking about something and I had an idea. Is it technically possible that future versions of ssmins enables slot in stage screen selection? I'm asking you that because, in the game during story mode with Hades, there are 2 versions of Wailing Wall, one with full Wall and another one with the hole in it made by Gold Saint attack. (stage in the photo) Hopefully ssmins could give the opportunity to choose between them in the future or enable it.

I was also thinking about the stages the other day. But the very first thing would be to make them work as replacers, after that I could consider add it to ssmins in someway.

Yeah, they're also some stages that appears in game that are not playable like Pandora stage on the intro of Hades Arc, The Rozan Waterfalls, or outside the Aries temple. Also I was talking on maybe in a future would be cool to extend the limits of stages. link

Yes Envoy, I saw it, I replied after you but I think extending a limit would be different from enable certain stages that already exist. That's the point! If it is posible to extend the limit of a stage, I guess, there would be a "camera" problem as with Cassios mod for example (camera focuses on chest instead of head because he is so tall)
Btw, do we know the files that should be moddified for stages?
