For an update, next time can you try to add a "Add Costume" to existing characters? Thanks, in advance!

Mhh, so it still only applies to mod-added character slots and not to vanilla characters? No, for that I will have to finish (well, or start first ) a replace for that horrible list-based selection (my plan is to have a graphical one like I used in SS Mods Installer, the implementation is a bit more complex in XV2 because there isn't a fixed number of slots, and i need a scroll)

I'm having troubles. I'm trying to compile a mod in through this. My first attempt made the file no problem, but the character didn't have any model or textures or anything after installing the mod. So I figured I made a mistake with the chara files. So I moved the Chara files up one folder so it was just the three letter folder (in this case BRF) then all the chara files. After doing this, I can't get the mod to save anymore. Now it just gives a message "AddExternalDirector failed on character files." Then "Build failed" I don't really know what this error message means, so I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

The error basically says it can't find the character's files.
What you need is the character folder: BRF And the files inside that folder.
The reason the model/textures aren't showing up is because this program is not magic. It does not magically make the characters work for you. You still have to edit the .bcs file and replace all of the original character name with BRF.

Like others I also have my newly added chars/costumes showing up as invisible. I've tried every CMS name I can think of. I'm trying to add more costumes to Gogeta as 1st time practice.
Here's what I'm doing.
(This is where I feel I'm probably messing up at as I've never done this kind of modding before. I might be wrong though)
- Make folder "GGA" - Copy all the files from GG1 (Gogeta game folder) to GGA - Bulk rename GG1 -> GGA - I don't remove or change anything else
XV2 Char creator
- Name: Gogeta - Author: Test - Version: 1 - Chara name: Copy from game (Gogeta ssj1)
Files - My folder name is GGA (For test purposes. Will rename to something more random later) so I select that in File name since it doesn't let me choose Gogeta's game folder (GG1). GGA has GG1's files just renamed. - I copy the char Portrait/battle portrait of Gogeta from the in-game one - I ignore the additional data option
Slots
- For slots I am just leaving it as 1 slot. Then having the installer add the slot on to make Gogeta have 3 slots. I've added 3 additional slots in one attempt therefore having 5 slots but for simplicity I'm leaving it at 0 for this. - I make the costume name "Matamoran Clothes 3" - For slots: I have tried 0/0, 0/1, 1/1..etc. Same outcome. Not sure if it matters otherwise I'll keep playing with it.
CMS
- I copy Gogeta from in game. - What's presented in BAC/BCM when I do that just "GG1" nothing else which upon saving gives the error saying essentially that I need to rename them. So I tried "GG1", "../GG1/GG1", "../GGA/GGA", and some other variations (I spent probably 30min trying any variation I could think of).
After that I save it and install by clicking "append all to an existing slot" and choose Gogeta. Then when I go to select the new 3rd costume the model isn't there and the battle doesn't load.

Hello guys, First: I am sincerely thankful for the creation of this tool, this looks very useful, so thank you eternity. Unfortunately, I´m having a problem installing the fused zamasu mod from Xan. In fact, I´ve had the same problem with a couple other mods (though those were from xv1 that I "copy-pasted" but still, it´s the same problem). The problem is the following: I correctly install everything (sdk, java, xv2 patcher...etc). I didn´t change any settings in xv2 patcher, btw, just extracted it on xv2 directory, then made a new folder named "data" on the xv2 directory. Both of your tools (creator and installer) work fine, I follow your tutorial closely and install fused zamasu in a new slot. However, while the slot is there in-game, the model is invisible. All the models load fine except the zamasu one. Then, when the game loads the invisible model, all other models become invisible, and I have to quit the character selection screen, because if I select anybody to fight, the game gets stuck in the vs screen (nothing shows up in the two "portraits" that are supposed to show the models). Could you or any other experienced modder lend me a hand? thanks, and congratz on this achievement. That's probably a problem of the cms. The cms strings must point to the proper location. I had a same problem, tried everything and it's didn't work, pls help me to point to the proper location

Use the logging capabilities of xv2patcher to know what was wrong.
xv2patcher.ini -> log_all_files -> set to true. Start the game and go to your character that fail. Then leave game and read the file xv2_log.txt, and search for lines that have the word "neither", and you will find the files that the game was expecting but couldn't load. While some of them are normal (like data/demo/DSE/CAR_A00_01_SE.dse), the ones that point to your character files aren't.

Ill try seeing and bring back results when I have tested UPDATE: Tried it with Pikkon, saw what files were missing. Now going to fix him up with XV2CharaCreator. ANOTHER UPDATE: It works perfectly now! This worked well! Now to fix Zamazu

No. Atm, if you want to add npc with XV2 Mods Installer, you will have to manually edit the CharaList.as file that is saved in AppData/Roaming/XV2INS (and then perform an action that forces the installer to compile that file, such as reinstalling a mod).
An alternative is create a clone of the npc as new character (by pointing in the cms to that character, this could be done with minimal amount of new files).

And in the future you will not add the option to be able to modify the existing characters in the game? That is, to be able to modify the stats of the NPC or to be able to use the IDs of the NPC or something like that

I may add something like that in the future. But there are technical issues that I have to resolve first. Like for example, such a mod would have to be a singleton, because another one of the same character would overwrite it.
And the uninstallation of such a mod would also be more complicated, because I should have care to not delete original entries.
I'm even thinking of not providing this feature as a mod that can be installed in a package, but instead add something like "an advanced slots editor" to the installer (in tools menu or something, along with a more simple slots editor for more simple operations), where this thing can be done separately. It would fix most of the technical problems.
