Have you been touching the xv2patcher.ini? It has an "offline_mode" variable, which is defaulted to false. If you changed that to true, it would disable internet usage. Hi eternity, No, I don't recall ever messing with the xv2patcher.ini at any point. As I've stated before, I only extracted the files directly from the archive and placed them where they should belong, overwriting files as needed. But I will look into that and see if it somehow got messed up somehow. Thank you! EDIT: Noticed you mentioned 0.5 will be the next update, I'll wait for that then if it turns out the xv2patcher.ini is not the issue So it turns out that has nothing to do with the xv2patcher.ini as suspected and the only way for me to play the game with mods is to play offline with no internet connection. It's pretty bizarre to say the least, perhaps I won't have as much trouble as I am right now when 0.5 gets released.

Does it happen if you delete the data directory? (e.g. a mod may be causing this, and not xv2patcher, xv2patcher just enables the mod at data). Have you tried multiple times (no, one or two is not enough) with and without the patcher to verify it? Because there are reports of server problems in Steam.

Is there anyway to disable the clean install? I already did it after the update and I used a few x2ms that I updated and then added some unmodded files (from the updated .cpks) and it wants to do a clean install again and I'd rather not have to start over again.

The tool is scripted to do that if it detects that the cms file doesn't have the character "CMP" (Champa, which is already in the CMS). You probably wrote an old cms file, even if you think it is a new one. Did you add the one of data.cpk? That cms file is OUTDATED. Use the one from data1.cpk. This game uses a priority with cpk, if you **** up with priority and write and old file, you would be downgrading your game. Before playing with files extracted from cpk, grab this load order in your mind or you are going to downgrade your game once and again.

This one -> "It looks like you have game data from an old update, the installer cannot work with these files." Or this one= -> "It looks like you have data from an old XV2INS version, the installer cannot work with these files." There is a difference between them. The first one is caused if the cms at data/system doesn't have CMP. The second one is causes if the file CharaList.as exists in c:/Users/[User]/AppData/Roaming/XV2INS (the new version uses file name CharaListV2.as)

A generic reminder here, that the proper way to update XV2 Mods Installer, is to overwrite the old version with the new one. (overwrite the two exes and the Internal folder). HAVING TWO VERSIONS OF THE INSTALLER IN THE SYSTEM IS A VERY BAD IDEA, BECAUSE ONLY ONE OF THEM WOULD BE ASSOCIATED TO X2M FILES.

After I installed a mod manually the mods that I had installed with the program stop working. Help me with this problem please The installer is not compatible with mods that have any of these files: - data/system/aura_setting.aur - data/system/CameraLimitValue.cml - data/system/char_model_spec.cms - data/system/chara_sound.cso - data/system/custom_skill.cus - data/system/parameter_spec_char.psc - data/system/special_event_voice.sev - data/ui/iggy/CHARASELE.iggy - data/ui/texture/CHARA01.emb - data/ui/CharaImage/chara_image.hci And in 0.5, the following will be added: - data/sound/VOX/Sys/CRT_CS_vox.acb - data/sound/VOX/Sys/CRT_CS_vox.awb - data/sound/VOX/Sys/en/CRT_CS_vox.acb - data/sound/VOX/Sys/en/CRT_CS_vox.awb ----- You'll have to clear installation (tools -> clear installation) and install mods again.

So all i have to do is uninstall all mods and re-install yes and no, you need to check if any of the drag and drop mods you may use have those files, if they have them don't use those mods

I have also been having this issue, ill install another a few characters, and then it will say it has a data issue. I made a work around by searching in your windows box %appdata%, if it wants to clear the install, and simply deleting the carclist.as. I dont know if this work around has adverse effects yet but I have 100 plus mods pret 1.04 game install and im gonna test to see for right now if this work around helps. All I know is it didnt delete the charcters i installed, so if it doesnt affect transformation i say just install mods, and if you get a clear warning simply delete i the charac.as file.

Update, my work around works, I had a old Cabba installed and, ended the game and tried installing more got the data error deleted the old Char.As list and the mods work just fine, its annoying but it works at least in my case, I hope this helps. I think its a error with the program because it doesnt always detect the data and it needs to be fixed. Oh well I think this work around works. Hope this helps.

Why don't you specify more which exact error are you having and what things you did? Did you install manual mods? I don't have mind reading capabilities, and past experiencies tell me there is a 95% of probabilties of an error on your end and a 5% of a bug in the program. Also, do you still have an old version of the installer somewhere in your system? Because having two versions of the installer is a source of problems.

It looks like you have data from an old XV2INS version, the installer cannot work with these files. This is the error I would get from installing a few mods. I also did some searching and I had a saved old XVINS folder in the documents section of my computer. However, I keep the updated installer on my portable hard drive because originally it too me a while to get it working, and I have been updating my installer and patcher, everytime a new one comes out but up until v 42 i never had issues with data like that. I am sorry I implied it was the installer fault. Hopefully deleting that extra installer will help resolve things, but I though since it was in the c drive it couldnt affect anything. Also I havent been using any drag and drop mods for a while, so i thought it was the installer.

The problem of having two installer versions is the following: if you associated the x2m extension, that will only work with the first one you associated the extension to. You would have to run tools->associate x2m extension again for the new version, otherwise when you install a x2m file, it would get installed using previous version.
Versions prior to 0.41 used file CharaList.as, and version 0.42+ use CharaListV2.as. If you use both at same time (either on purpose or because x2m extension was associated to the previous version), you'll end having problems.
That's why the recommended upgrade method is the following: replace the two exes and the Internal folder with those of the new version. That way, if you associated x2m extension, it will still point to the same exes.
Sooner or later (more later than sooner) I will write an installer for the installer to avoid these problem of portable programs. But it will be a while for that.

I have a problem another time. When I chose my characters the game crash, and this time I didn't edit chara01.emb. Did it happen with same number of slots than last time? Iirc, last time, I saw that you had 230 slots when the issue happened (including official slots), although my efforts to artificially reproduce the issue by having multiple copies of some slots, didn't show any issue.
