Today, I am bringing to you a detailed tutorial on how to add a new character to the game with its proper ID (NO replacing existing characters) and assign skills, stats, z-soul, aura, image, name ... So this will be a bit long, but once you finished it, you will be able to easily do it.
The game has some free IDs so we can assign to each ID a new character without messing with the original characters (quests will work correctly).
First of all download this and install it in your game. These are files to which I added new slots (You can add up to 13 characters)
1. Assigning new characters to free IDs:
These are the free IDs that I found:
Open it with hex editor. For example I will add Hit (model by Xan).
Go the offset x1D70 and do the following
So now we have the new ID 2F assigned to HIT
Now the new character must be unlocked in the game, to do this open tmq_data.qxd (located in data2\data\quest\TMQ) with hex editor, go to offset x27C54 and change X01 to HIT
Now open CHARASELE.iggy (located in data2\data\ui\iggy) with hex editor and go to offset x19D8D change JCO to HIT
New characters list:
2. working with the model:
3. Adding character's portrait to the game:
4. Adding name to the new character:
Use MsgEditor (by Mugenattack) to do it fast. load proper_noun_character_name_en.msg (). Msg>Add, select the last item and rename it to "chara_HIT_000"
5. Adding skills, stats, aura:
Skills
you can change skills easily with Skill Changer tool
New characters list:
Stats and Z-soul
If you want to change stats and assign a z-soul open parameter_spec_char.psc and go to offset xB804. This is the slot of the first new character (you can see tutorial section for more)
New characters list:
Aura
If you want to change aura open aura_setting.aur and go to offset x1180 change the value at x1188 with the aura you want (you can see tutorial section for more)
New characters list:
6. Adding in-battle voice:
7. And here you go!
This is a totally new character with its proper ID. You can add up to 13 characters of your choice.
The only thing we should know now is to figure out how to create new slots in the roster
I hope the tutorial is clear to everyone and we're ready enough to XV2

2. working with the model:
In my example I downloaded Hit (which replaces S17) so copy the entire S17 folder from data2\data\chara), rename the folder to HIT. Install the files of the mod in the folder and overwrite files. Now rename all files in the folder to HIT instead of S17
Now open the CMS Tool (by Mugenattack), load your char_model_spec.cms and do the following
Now open the CMS Tool (by Mugenattack), load your char_model_spec.cms and do the following
3. Adding character's portrait to the game:
unpack CHARA01.emb (data2\data\ui\texture) with embpack and insert a new DDS of your new character "HIT_000.dds"
Go to datap3\data\ui\texture make a new folder name it "HIT" and insert your "HIT_000.dds", drag and drop the folder to embpack. this will create a new file named HIT.emb
Now you will get this
