A problem that has affected modding since the beginning is that mods load times are bigger than those of original game content, and which can be specially noticeable in hdd. Why does it happen? It happens because the game data are in compressed cpk, while mods use the data folder, whose content is uncompressed.
If you are really affected by slowness, there is something very simple you can do to improve this. The NTFS file system that Windows uses allow for transparent compression (this means the OS does the job, and applications aren't aware that there is compression at all).
Steps:
1) Locate your data folder in the windows explorer, and select it.
2) Righ click, properties. 3) Click advanded options. 4) Check the box "Compress contents to save disk space". Click OK. when asked, leave the default "apply to all subdirectories". 5) If your data folder already had a lot of content, it may take a while for the OS to compress all content, just wait patiently.
And that's it, your load times should now be faster.
Precautions: - If you use a music mod, it would be adivsed that you specifically disable compression in the .awb file.

Another option is if you have a SSD is put xv2 on there. both in combination should really speed things up.
