I want to replace Towa by Burter. so i copied bat folder renamed it to tow, renamed all its files to tow instead of bat then i opened the new tow.bcs with hex replaced every bat with tow, repacked datap3. but the character doesnt appear in the char selection. did i miss something? i need more help for model swapping please

Sorry my english isnt that good. I downloaded a mod for Champa replacing Burter. But I want to keep Burter in my game. So here is what i want to do Burter->towa champa mod ->original burter Thanks for helping me

But... but... BURTER! TOWA! Why would you prefer to have Burter when you could have Towa?! *sigh*
Nevermind.
Just copy the emd, emm, emb, dyt.emb, bcs, cam.ean and fce.ean files, not the others. Then take a look on Xan's cms editting tutorial. That'll fix your issue... Although you should consider seeing a psychologist. Burter over Towa... something has to be wrong with you...

Why not just put Champa over Towa? ? What a bump! nvm I solved this problem ages ago and even made a tutorial to save both characters instead of replacing one of them.

I dont really want to dive into the hex editing, nor do i want to download the updated file with the 13 new character slots, because this would erase some already edited material I have.
What I am wondering is why i cant simply rename files to a different character?
Lets say I have this nice baby Vegeta Mod that replaces Super 17.
Why cant i Just make a new folder called VGT in datap3, Paste in the S17 files, and rename them all to Veg_0013 to replace vegeta's 13th costume slot?
When I do all my characters show up blank in game. any advice? I would be able to add all the characters i like to replace others like the ginyu squad that i dont like.

There is also another way to do it 1.Make folder in datap3 if you are making baby vegeta then decide just simple name like "BV4" make this like folden then copy all mod files in this folder 2.Then rename all file name to BV4 using Bulk Rename utility 3.Then Open mod bcs use 010 editor editor to replace all name is one time then after open bcs rename to ex.vg4,vg to BV4. 4.Then open char_model_spec.cms(it's inside data2.cpk) using cms tool. 5.Then decide which character you want replace without deleting his files If super 17 s17 like down below you need to change Character = s17 to ../BV4/BV4 EAN= s17 to ../BV4/BV4 3?= s17 to ../BV4/BV4 Skill animation = s17 to ../BV4/BV4 BCM = s17 to ../BV4/BV4 BAC= s17 to ../BV4/BV4 7? = s17 to ../BV4/BV4 after that save all progress 6.Repack data2 and datap3. And about blank in game I think you make one mistake like ex .forget to give name to your chara or forget to give portrait icon files (inside chara01.emb ) May Be that's why or just asked to becks7 he will explain you better in this like stuff than others!! I dont understand this part Are you saying i could pick a new character besides S17, like RCM_000 – Recoome ? Update: Also for part 2 I opened the BCS with 010 editor, and am changing the entries from S17 to BV4 , how will this method make this replace one of vegetas costume slots? would i want to name this Veg_0013 insteaf of BV4? is this method making a brand new character? Update 2: Did all of this: 1) Created a Folder in Datap3 called BV4 2) Pasted the S17 Baby vegeta mod files in 3) Renamed them all from S17_ to BV4_ 4) Opened the BCS file and Replaced S17 with BV4 5) Opened char_model_spec.cms and tried changing the value for RCM (racoome) all to BV4, when that didnt work I tried a character with 1 costume slot , Towa to Bv4. It's bcs editing you need to contact bcs expert like Val E Royn , Xan ,Mugenattack,Sol Nogero,etc
