I already said. You will be required to clean your install if you want to get any big update working and not having a mess. And a new version of the tool that uses their new charasele.iggy.
At the very least they are going to change the cus, charasele.iggy and chara01.emb. But probably some other system file too. You just can't pretend for an update of that nature to be compatible with previous modding.
Version 0.41 will have an utility to clean the mod installation quickly (will delete both the data folder and the XV2INS configuration at AppData/Roaming). I already coded it, with user confirmation dialog, and with optional (and default) send to reciclye bin instead of delete. Once the update is out, I will build a new version of installer which will require that version of the game (1.04 or 1.05) and which will use the new charasele.iggy as base.
On every update there is also a possibility that at least one of the patches of xv2patcher breaks and it may require an update.
I will also update the post at game discussions about update files changes. Anyway I'd say it would be a miracle if they release update today and we would be "very lucky" if we get it before 2017.
EDIT: the admin (or whatever he is) of the steam xv2 forums said it was likely going to be today at 17 CET, so I will likely have to eat those latest words.

Long story short: We are going to have to wait till eternity gives us an updated tool, before we can do the X2m Files thing again One question though but does TheMadTitan's method from a few months back still work for doing mods? Or to be specific, does the replacement method still work? |

So the new patcher (When it is released) should install all mods normally again? I use Legendary Agwangs gods vs mortals pack, so the patcher should make it usable again? Sorry, I'm still learning a lot about modding.

- (Installer) Number of slots have been decreased from 1000 to 850 to stay at in a 16 bits "safe side" in some calculations.

I'm just here to say everything still works for me after the update, but the character roster menu is glitched out. I have the updated patcher as well as the installer. The installer also works and opens up, as well as installs the mods as it's supposed to. Would be nice to not have the glitched menu though. Any word on why that happens?  |

Same thing happened to my roster when I used the gods vs mortals mod. I believe the modder just will have to update the mod itself to work with the new update.

Only problem I've encountered so far is that the installer doesn't display the mods I have installed, but they are installed (and playable) and are even shown in the slot editor: |

Don't use mods that overwrite CHARASELE.iggy, that won't work. Forget about the past, after this update, the game has changed, it is a new game.

Not sure why it happens. Can you help me to figure it out? Follow these instructions. But instead of the rule "process is mxmlc.exe", use "process is xv2ins.exe". After having the process monitor configured, just open the Mods Installer normally and then leave the program (don't install anything) Then send me the PML file. |
